Since their chemistry on the set of popular comedy series Jennifa’s Diary, rapper Falz and actress Funke Akindele have been rumoured to be in a pretty close relationship.

But Funke has cleared the air on the state of their affair adding that it is nothing but a work-based relationship.
Speaking to a Vanguard correspondent at the recent Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards (AMVCAs) which took place on Saturday, March 5 in Lagos, the actress explained how she met the rapper and comedian.
She recounted listening to his album, liking his style of music and then meeting up with him at an event which led to getting his contacts.
They soon became comfortable together after which she invited him to her place and the everything else took shape from there.
“So, we got talking and one day I invited him over to my place and he came with his manager. I cooked for him and we all ate. While we were discussing, I asked him if he would like to be featured as my boyfriend in the latest edition of Jennifer’s Diary and he responded positively. Apart from work relationship, we have nothing between us. We work together and enjoy ourselves, that’s all.”

Funke Akindele is a lawyer turned actress. She started her career as an actress in the popular teen TV series I Need To Know. Since then, she has risen to the acme of Nollywood, earming her stripes both as an actress and as a movie producer.
Her acclaimed comedy TV series Jennifa’s Diaries won her the award for Best Actress in a comedy at the recent AMVCAs.
Falz is a Nigerian rapper, song writer and brand ambassador. His father is a respected Nigerian lawyer and Human Rights Activist.
He was born in Lagos and is a graduate of the University of Reading, England. He was called to the bar in 2012 but left the legal profession shortly after practicing in his father’s chamber in pursuit of greatness in the Nigerian entertainment industry.
In 2015, he released the album Stories That Touch which has several hit songs and has received rave reviews across various spheres of the Nigerian entertainment industry.
