Dream Team VI captain, John Mikel Obi has received the sum of N1.8m ($4,600) from the Sports Ministry as refund after paying for an outstanding hotel bill in Sao Paulo.
The Dream Team VI players and officials were lodged at a Sau Paolo hotel for their last Group game of Rio 2016 Olympic Games which they lost 2-0.
The midfielder who opened goal for Nigeria in the 2-0 win over Denmark had waded in to save his teammates after the Sports Ministry failed to pay the hotel bills.
The Sports Ministry though the personal assistant to the Minister, Nneka Ikem confirmed that the sum has been paid back to the Chelsea midfielder.
Cash troubles continues to trail the Dream Team VI during the Olympics sojourn in Rio.
They recently threatened staying away from training due to unpaid allowances before the Sports Ministry and the Nigeria Football Federation moved in to avert the situation.
